Day 6 Journal, July 17, 2007

17 07 2007

Hello campers!

Today was a pretty busy day for you.  I hope you were able to finish your brochure, newsletter or flyer that was part of your WebQuest activity.  Don’t for get to save that to a flashdrive (you might want to save it to more than one flash).  Now for today’s journal response–

  • Tell us which type of print document your team produced for the WebQuest.  Why did you choose this particular type of document?  Which member of your team was responsible for doing most of the typing?  What pictures did your group take today?  Have you decided who will be your speaker(s) for your group’s PowerPoint and robot demonstration?  Who do you think would do the best job as speaker(s) for your group?  Give some details for your choice(s) please.

Day 5 Journal, July 16, 2007

Happy Monday CCR campers!

I hope you’re  ready for another action packed week!  Take a few minutes to write about how your team is handling the mini-challenges with the robot?  Are these truly team efforts?  What could your team do a little better?  What was your role today?  Did you do a good job or could you have contributed more to the group?  Details, please.  (your response should contain as much information as possible).

Day 4 Journal, July 12, 2007

12 07 2007

Greeting Campers!  Well, now, week one is almost over.  I know many of you have had some great experiences already and I know there will be more to come during the next three weeks.  Look forward to meeting some interesting people who are employed in professions directly connected to the weather, oceanography, archeology and engineering!

I can tell from your journals that some of you got more than you expected, but have found the teamwork and activities challenging and interesting.  Let’s take a few minutes to reflect and look forward.  Please comment on the items below and have a great weekend.

  1. What was you most memorable experience in camp this week?  This could be something you learned, something the team accomplished, or even a personal discovery.  Please provide details.
  2. What do you feel was your team’s greatest accomplishment so far?  Information please.  You probably want to talk with the team members before you answer this.
  3. What are your expectations for next week?  Does your team have a plan? If so, what is it?

Day 3 Journal, July 11, 2007

11 07 2007

Land Ho, mates!  Here’s hoping you have some tasks completed and teams are working on mini-challenges successfully.  Tell us which print format your team chose for the WebQuest research and why you chose it.

  • Did you create a brochure, a flyer, a newsletter or another print product?
  • Did everyone contribute or did one or two people take that responsibility?
  • What pictures or graphics did you include and why?

Finally, how are you doing at becoming a “team” member?  do you think working as a team is more productive than working by your self on this type of project?  Please explain.

Don’t forget to go back an post entries for any journal that is missing if you want the $10 per journal tomorrow.  If your postings from Days 1 & 2 are not up it means either it didn’t go through on the e-mail or it contained comments that were not positive and productive.  Remember, it’s ok to be honest, but this is not a forum for hurtful or snide personal remarks to or about other campers.  Constructive criticism gives the person information for improvement only.

Day 2 Journal, July 10, 2007

10 07 2007

Ahoy maties!  Well how was Day 2?  What team job did you have today?  Did your team work well together?  Can you start to make some decisions as to which type of professionals are most important to a treasure recovery mission in a coral reef area?

Did you complete your brochure or flyer for the WebQuest?  Why or why not?  If you still need to complete this, when will you finish it?

Remember, answer all questions in a single response, not individual entries.  Also, if you did not see your response to the Day One Journal, please complete that either today or on Wednesday.

Day One Journal – July 9, 2007
