Three Computers/500 Favorite Websites/I NEED HELP!

Do you ever dream of being given a gift of an extra six hours for one day and being able to organize your papers, your work, your lesson plans, and your resources? I can’t help you with the first three, but I can help you with the last one.

I’m sure your habits are like mine; you come across a fabulous website, bookmark it, and when you go to work, you have NO clue what the site’s URL is. Or, you jump up and down excitedly in front of your colleagues and exclaim, “I HAVE THE PERFECT WEBSITE!” The air is THICK with excitement and anticipation! Everyone gathers around you as you type in the address, and you realize that you have forgotten how you got the site. It’s like forgetting the punch line of a joke and everyone stares at you.

Although you’ve probably seen the logo often, the site really is worth registering with (and it’s free). Delicious is a social networking site that allows you to “tag*” your favorite sites and have them available from any computer anywhere in the world. Imagine logging on to del.icio.us, clicking on the tag or link, and voila, there it is!

It’s simple, it’s easy, and you’ll wonder why you’ve waited for so long!

A tag is simply a word you use to describe a bookmark. Unlike folders, you make up tags when you need them and you can use as many as you like. The result is a better way to organize your bookmarks and a great way to discover interesting things on the Web
